Superhero News: Fan Tweaks Colors of Awful 'Wonder Woman' Costume: Is It an Improvement?

Superhero News: Fan Tweaks Colors of Awful 'Wonder Woman' Costume: Is It an Improvement? Yesterday we were treated to the first image of "Wonder Woman" star Adrianne Palicki in her costume. Opinions differed widely on internet forums as to whether the new costume is any good.

Personally, I like the addition of the pants and the removal of the stars, it makes the costume a bit more practical. However, the fact that the costume is shiny pleather head to toe and that the boots have been turned blue bother me.

The fabric looks cheap, and why would you change Wonder Woman's iconic red boots to blue when it isn't necessary? To me, the result is a costume that looks like it was picked up at a Halloween store that has to sell a purposefully modified outfit to avoid copyright infringement.

But that's just my opinion.

Today, a fan and graphic designer who goes by @Hawkster on Twitter posted a modified version of the costume on his Tumblr. In his version, the colors are darkened a bit (especially the pants) to reduce the shine and make them look less cheap. But most importantly, Hawkster changed the boots back to red!

I find the modified version to be a vast improvement. It's classic yet updated, mirrors the look in the comics better (lately Wonder Woman has been wearing black pants), and it looks less stripper-y. Mind you, none of this is a reflection on Palicki: I think she has the attitude down, and she looks the part.

Check out the two costumes, side-by-side, below. What do you think? Did you like the original costume? Is this an improvement?
